Install FreightWare Online

FreightWare Online uses a Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) client to connect to our robust server. This allows any Windows or Mac computer to use FreightWare Online. To enable this functionality, users must download and install a small program to their local machine to enable communication between their computer and FreightWare Online.

To install the RDP client on a Windows computer follow these steps:

  1. Download the appropriate install file from the FreightWare Support Site.
  2. Right-click on the downloaded file and click Run As Administrator to initiate the installation.
  3. Select the correct server from the list.  This will be provided to you in your Welcome Email.
  4. Enter your user name in the format first_name.last_name@freightware.net.
  5. Click the Install button.

Note:  This should install the RDP Cient, UniPrint Client, and map your disk drive for sending and recieving files from FreightWare.  If any of these steps failed consult the following individual articles to fix:

  1. Updating the RDP Client
  2. Installing the Uniprint Client
  3. Mapping your Local Drives

Note:  Do not Pin the shortcut to the TaskBar or Start Menu. This will cause your Drive Mapping to fail and you will not be able to export data to your local computer.

To install the RDP client on a Mac computer follow these steps:

  1. Download an Remote Desktop Client from the Apple Store.
  2. Enter in the server name.  This will be provided to you in your welcome email or contact FreightWare Support.

Note:  There are many Remote Desktop clients available.  We have had good luck with the Windows  and 2X clients which are both available at the Apple Store for free.
