How do I set up FreightWare security so my users only get the menu options they need?

Manage FreightWare Security

Select Setup > Create Security Profile from the main FreightWare menu

Click New to create a new user

Top 3 fields are system-wide passwords for specific functions.  Leave these fields blank if you want no password protection on those functions.

User Name - Enter first and last name of user
Logon ID and Password are required fields
Department, Location, Phone are optional and informational only
Division - Selecting this will limit the user in selected areas to that division.  Leave this field blank in not using divisions or this user needs to see all divisions.
Force Password Change - Check this to force the user to assign a new password at next login
Change Password Every X Days - Assign number of days to expire a password and force a change.  Leave this field zero to not expire passwords.
Last Password Change - This field is maintained by the system.

Click the Security tab

 

Default Security - This is a quick basic profile for the type of user.
    Administrator - Read/Write access to all menu options
    Supervisor - Read/Write access to all menu options except Create Security Profile
    Normal - Read/Write access to all menu options except Create Security Profile and Change Company Information

To restrict menu options, Select Read Only or No Access on the right end of each menu item line.  Selecting No Access will remove the menu item from the users FreightWare menu.
NOTE: Read Only access is limited to a few menu items and full access will may be granted when Read Only is selected. 

Copy Security From - Use this to copy the security settings from another user to this user.  Select the user to copy the settings from and then click the Copy button.

Click the Email tab

 

To email from Freightware, each user will need to identify their own email configuration settings. These settings are similar to the settings for an account in Outlook.

Reply to Email - This will be the reply address for the email sent.
From Address - This will be the From Address for the email sent.
Outgoing Mail Server - usually 'mail' or 'smtp' plus your domain name
Authentication Required - This is usually going to be set to Required and require a User ID and Password to be entered.
Signature - This will appear at the bottom of your outgoing emails from FreightWare.

Click Send Test Message to verify the email settings are working.  If the email does not go out, please contact your email provider for the correct settings.
